Chinese New Year
Last week we celebrated Chinese New Year with our children by learning all about the tradition and celebration. As part of our British values we promote tolerance, appreciation and respect for our own and other cultures. This has enabled the children to look at similarities and difference between themselves and others. The many traditions that make up the festival have offered plentiful opportunities to extend children’s knowledge and understanding of the world for all ages across nursery. Some of the activities included; listening to Chinese music, painting blossom trees, wearing authentic clothing and accessories, creating dragons and lanterns, looking at and having a go at Chinese writing and of course sampling Chinese food. Just look at all the wonderful experiences the children have been involved with.
