Big Bumbles have been exploring size through measuring their feet. They have been mark making around their shoes to make footprints. While doing this the Big Bumbles used language such as “bigger”, “smaller” and “the same” to compare their feet. The children then worked together to look inside their shoes to find the number which shows the shoe size. To make this number personal to the children, they began mark making their names on their shoe drawing and wrote their shoe size too. Alongside this we also looked at measurements by using the child’s measuring foot gauge where they used the scale to see different numbers and sizes. By doing this the children were able to recognise similarities and differences between them.
